Dora Jar is an American bedroom pop musician originally from New York City who moved to California to provide care to her sister, Lueza, who was born with cerebral palsy. Unfortunately, in 2011, Lueza passed away. Dora held on to a lot of trauma regarding her sister’s passing— she moved back to NYC for boarding school and never even spoke of Lueza or her life in California She has even said that she felt like she was living a lie.

A kaleidoscopic and introspective identity for Dora Jar’s debut album, Open Me Up If You Dare, which will be released on March 25, 2024, National Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, in honor of her sister Lueza. A limited edition kaleidoscopic pressing will be sold and all proceeds will go to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.

THE CONCEPT:

"I did a shit ton of mushrooms and had a beautiful time for the first couple of hours. I saw the animal kingdom and rainbow dots on my ceiling. And then it was a kaleidoscope of deities coming at me. Indescribable shit.”
